Quinta do Agricultor

A great traditional dining experience, and a fun way to familiarize oneself with São Miguel's old agricultural way of life.

After building up an appetite while strolling in the large garden, petting the farm animals or even playing lovers of old times at their flirting window, everyone is attracted by the wonderful smell of bread cooking in the wood oven and of all the other gorgeous dishes prepared by Goretti. She and her husband Eugenio organize country tables whose menu is inspired by the traditional cuisine of São Miguel. In the beautiful candle-lit stone house, people gather around the large table where Goretti's and Eugenio's children, Rita and Miguel, help serve the delicious smoked pork soup, rillettes, homemade cheese and cookies, without forgetting the hot, steaming bread cut into large slices by Eugenio... A wonderful experience in a warm and friendy atmosphere, and a great addition to any trip to São Miguel.
